I started this business in 2005 as a sole proprietor. After getting married to my beautiful wife Jodi in 2006, the company has grown and evolved from a sole proprietorship to the family-owned business that is Baker Builders today. Over the last decade we have not only grown our business but grown our wonderful family as well with the addition of three bustling boys and a precious daughter.
I started in this industry at the young age of 10 years old working for a former baseball and football coach. My loyalty, along with his generosity and willingness to teach, allowed me to stay with him until I was 23. Every weekend and every break from school, if I wasn’t playing sports, I was working on a construction site and loving every minute of it. Growing up working construction from such a young age helped me intimately learn every facet of the industry with a hands-on perspective that is immeasurable. After graduating high school, I was blessed enough to receive a scholarship to play baseball. I graduated with a degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship. After graduation and a brief stint trying to pursue a professional baseball career, I went home and went to work building. After receiving my General B contractor’s license, my business was born.
I am constantly busy coaching my sons’ football and baseball teams or watching my daughter in gymnastics and soccer. I enjoy spending time outdoors, but my true passion is hunting, preferably with my bow or with my two labs chasing birds. In the summer, I love taking the family camping at Glendo Reservoir and relaxing on the lake.
My wife, Jodi, handles our marketing and helps with office responsibilities. She loves coaching our daughter in soccer and cheering on the boys in baseball and football. Jodi loves to sew, scrapbook and be outdoors as well. Being on the lake, camping or anything up in the mountains with the family is a perfect way to relax.
We also have some amazing people that have joined our family and help run this business. Our operations manager is John Bolders. John owned and/or operated environmental and engineering consulting companies for over 30 years. He has truly brought a level of management expertise and knowledge to our growing business. He helps run the office and keep our projects organized. John loves to read and enjoys being involved with his grandkids and all they have going on.
Nick Robinson is our estimator and has been in the industry for over 10 years. Nick started working with us in 2015 but he has been a part of our family for almost 12 years. He is an integral part of getting projects off the ground and working to keep all the pieces of your project running smoothly. Nick loves his wife and kids only slightly more than the Denver Broncos. He loves golf, sports of any kind and snowboarding. Nick has the amazing ability to become friends with anyone making him the perfect fit to coordinate your projects.
Ben Dundon is our Project Manager. He has been in the construction industry for over 15 years. He has experience with not only new construction but has also done work with homes dating back to the 1800s. He helps manage your project from start to finish and enjoys interacting with you, the client, throughout the process. Ben enjoys being with his family and friends, and loves to find a spot in the mountains to hang up his hammock, throw out a fly line and enjoy a camp fire.
Scott Bohanon is our Project Coordinator. Scott has worked in different trades over the 20 years he has been in construction, with a primary focus on heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. He works hard to keep you informed and your project running efficiently. Scott enjoys time with family and friends playing sports and games.
Patrick O’Tool is our Safety Manager. He has experience in both new construction and remodel work, as well as 30 plus years in personnel and safety management. He strives to keep our staff and subcontractors working safely on projects. He enjoys golfing and hunting outside of work, but most important is spending time with his grandkids and spoiling them.
We take the family-owned aspect of our business very seriously and our co-workers understand, above all, that they are family to us as well. We have some amazing people that have joined our family and help run this business. We approach our relationships with prospective clients the same way and welcome you to join our family too.
